PIN–UP ESSENCE

How do you extract the visual and conceptual core of an editorial project, and give it a new public form? In this workshop, each student chose one back issue of PIN–UP magazine. Using only material drawn from the issue itself, students reframed its central idea through collage and typography. The task was not to illustrate the issue, nor simply to recycle its content, but to interpret it — to distill its underlying logic and transform it into a strong personal graphic statement. By working with found editorial material students explored how design can read, edit, compress, and reassert meaning. The final outcome should feel less like promotion and more like a proposition: a visual argument about the essence of an issue.

Designed by second-year graphic design students: Leandra Adler, Cansu Melek Celen, Layana Comte, Anaïs Dermont, Camille Genoud, Ruth Fiad, Lucia Franceschini, Eloïse Guillod, Mathis Harmant, Hélène Prongué, Alice Refachinho, Justine Renevey, Gaspard Schlatter, Laura Simons, Isabelle Virnot, Toni Thien Duc Vu, Maïa Yassin, Jonas Zesiger.
